A LITTLE BIT ABOUT
THE 24k GOLD
THAT WE USE
IN OUR
FRAGRANCES
Fragrances within our "Forbidden Line" of fragrances have the option of being purchased with or without 24k Gold Flakes added to the fragrance. We get many questions from our customers inquiring about this option, so we thought we'd take a moment to address some of these common questions that arise.
-
“Is it REAL gold?”
Yes! The gold flakes that we use are 24k gold with a 99.8% purity. The remaining .2% is pure silver, added only to prevent the gold flakes from sticking to one another.
-
“Does the gold change or do anything to the scent profile?”
No. Gold has no smell and does not interact in any way with the perfume itself. It is strictly for aesthetic purposes!
-
“Is it cheaper if I get it without the gold flakes?”
No. The addition of gold flakes to the fragrance does not really add to the cost. Gold flakes are so light in weight, that the small pinch of flakes added to the bottle are almost unrecognizable on any digital scale. The added cost by adding the pinch of gold flakes to the bottle might not even total 10 cents!
-
“Will the gold clog the atomizer when spraying my fragrance?”
No. We have rigorously tested these gold flakes in our bottles by spraying numerous full bottles until completely empty, and not once has it ever clogged up. These gold flakes are so thin and so fine that they get atomized when the perfume is sprayed and disintegrate. If for whatever reason a clogged sprayer does happen, feel free to reach out to us and we will be more than happy to send you out a replacement atomizer!
And the most important question of all... Are the gold flakes SAFE for your skin?

But there is more ...

These studies were conducted on healthy skin, and the effects were documented after 4 and 8 weeks of application.
